The Govt’s ‘Coastal Minister’ Mark Francois has announced that £90 million is available over the next 4 years to help boost tourism, create jobs and provide quality training for local people. The money will be distributed in grants of between of between £50,000 and £4 million.
FACCT has agreed to update its Economic Plan and seek funding for some of the schemes within the Plan. ‘This year we will bid directly for some funds to help us prepare the ground for bigger bids to be made in later bidding rounds. We will also support bids made by other bodies whose plans link with the FACCT Economic Plan, for example the next stages of the Polytechnic project’ said Cllr Candy Atherton, who leads the FACCT team.
